Hemantha
Managing Director
Hemantha is an accomplished professional in IT, who always had a passion for the hospitality industry. After semi-retiring from the IT industry, he has devoted most of his time to build Moksha@Kitulgala. It started out as a holiday home for the family, but grew into a luxury boutique hotel since Hemantha and Janaki were awed by the serenity that the property provides, and wanted to invite guests who can understand and appreciate it.
Dulana
Director of Finance/Operations
Dulana is a finance/accounting professional, and is a member of the institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. He has worked at public accounting firms in Australia and New Zealand, and has worked with some of New Zealand’s most popular boutique hotels. He strongly believes in the concept of providing a holistic customer experience to our guests - combining delightful food (with our own Sri Lankan touch), unique experiences in Kitulgala and a relaxing stay whilst being close to nature - at Moksha. He will always be up for a chat, to ensure that you enjoy your stay with us whilst experiencing the unique offerings in this wonderful part of Sri Lanka. He loves Moksha@Kitulgala because it captures everything that he experienced as a kid whilst on holidays with his parents - nature, adventure, a unique history to the area, and our Sri Lankan culture.

Janaki
Director
Dr. Janaki is a Senior Lecturer at University of Colombo and a very accomplished academic in History. An avowed plant lover who has turned the rooftop at our home in Colombo into an Orchid and Rose garden, she always had a dream of having her own farm. Moksha@Kitulgala has provided her that opportunity with the help of our talented Team. She can talk to you about almost every plant, bird, animal, insect at our property just as much as she can talk to you about the history of the surrounding area.
Nelushi
Director
Nelushi is the sprightly youngest in the family with an avid interest in nature and the living environment. Studying Biodiversity and Conservation Science, she has a keen understanding on the intricacies of nature and how organisms, ecosystems and habitats interact in harmony. Kitulgala is one of her favourite locations in Sri Lanka for this reason, as it is surrounded by a rich environment that is teeming with all sorts of wildlife - both flora and fauna.
